Scouting Your Export Market

Export success calls for not only vision and determination; it requires attention to a thousand details–from legal contracts to customs duties and shipping regulations. Learning about the market or markets to which you will be exporting is key to your continued success. Scouting the market will allow you to familiarize yourself with market entry opportunities, opportunities you might not otherwise learn about, and challenges that will need to be addressed. Investing time and resources at the start is key.

An invaluable way to familiarize yourself with the details of your export operations is to visit your export market to see firsthand the realities on the grand wherever you are exporting your products or services. But visiting your export isn't the only option; you will also find that virtual trade missions and trade shows can help you learn about the markets to which you are exporting.
